DexOra measures your card's borders in pixels and draws a box around every flaw it finds. If a point came off, you can see the thing that took it — or you can tell us we're wrong.
Two numbers, both of them answerable.
A grade you can't check is just an opinion with a font. So DexOra only moves a number when it can point at the reason.
Centering is measured, not eyeballed
The card is found, straightened, and each of its four borders is measured across ~140 scan lines. You get real percentages — and if you disagree, you can drag the lines yourself and the grade recalculates, up or down.
Damage is found in close-up
A hairline scratch is one or two pixels in a normal photo — invisible. So both faces are cut into magnified strips and tiles, and each is inspected on its own, where a flaw is big enough to actually see.
Nothing counts unless it's drawn
Every flaw that costs you a point gets a red box on the card. No box, no deduction — enforced in code, not just asked for. If a box sits on clean cardboard, the grade is wrong and you can see that it is.
It tells you how sure it is.
A grade on its own hides how close the call was. So every result comes with the spread: how likely a professional lands on the same number, and on each one either side.
Even on a card it calls a 10, DexOra will tell you there's a 42% chance a grader says otherwise. That figure costs us the sale and we show it anyway — an app that only ever agrees with itself is worth nothing at the moment you're deciding whether a card is worth sending away.
- ✓Both faces inspected. Cards are graded on their backs too, so backs get checked.
- ✓Corrections stick. Drag the centering lines yourself and the grade follows — up as well as down.
Inspected in 36 close-ups of the front and back and nothing was found. That is a statement about what the inspection saw, not a claim the card is flawless — very faint marks can still be missed.
An estimate that admits what it can't see.
Grading software that claims certainty is lying to you. Here is what DexOra is honest about, because you'll find out anyway.
- —It is not an official grade. Not PSA, not BGS, not TAG. Real grading is done under magnification by people who disagree with each other.
- —A 10 means nothing was found, not that your card is flawless. Faint marks get missed, and the app says so instead of dressing it up.
- —If it can't check something, it says so. A surface that wasn't inspected is left blank, never quietly scored as perfect.
- —Photos matter. Flat light, sharp focus, plain background. A bad photo gets an honest "retake this" rather than a confident wrong answer.
- —It shows you its own odds of being wrong. Every grade comes with the probability a professional lands on a different number — including when that makes our answer look optimistic.
